Furry friends, working with Cat Protection to support households in Telford

Big thank you to Elaine and the Cats Protection Telford team, their Community Kitty scheme helps cat owners in need by working with food banks, including ourselves, and community partners to provide cat food to households across Telford.

Since April 2023 they have provided 2000 meals to cats, thanks to public donations and the hard work of volunteer Elaine.

Elaine regularly collects the food you have all generously given from our donation bins at Wellington Morrisons, Vets4Pets Telford, Cats Protection Market Stall inside Wellington Market, Shropshire and Chetwynd Firs Kennels & Cattery. She then delivers it to community hubs and Telford Crisis Support.

Knitting communities together in Telford & Wrekin

A knitting group, bringing women together from all backgrounds, has proudly donated baby and toddler woollens to a Telford charity to help parents struggling with the cost of living.
Hats, scarves and mittens have been lovingly knitted by the Kushdil ladies knitting group and donated to Telford Crisis Support.

Funding from Telford & Wrekin Council’s Safer & Stronger Communities project has helped set up the group which meets at the Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Hadley. As well as being able to help a good cause, for the women who come to the weekly group and who are all in their seventies, it is a chance to get out of the house and feel part of something.
